Mary Ann (Nabritt) Newsome's Obituary

It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Mary Ann Newsome who entered into rest Tuesday, March 9, 2021.


Mrs. Newsome was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a member of Old Macedonia Baptist Church where she served on the deaconess ministry and usher's ministry.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Newsome; a daughter, Cathy Grant; two brothers, Albert (Louise) Nabritt and Abram Nabritt; two sisters, Virginia (Leroy) Finklin and Francis (Arnold) Tompkins; two brothers-in-law, Albert (Carolyn) Newsome and Johnnie Willie Myers; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Old Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed. Viewing will be held from 2-6 pm Monday at the funeral home. The service will be live-streamed via the G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Facebook Page.
