It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Mrs. Occie Brisco of Clarks Hill, SC. Mrs. Brisco entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 2, 2020.
Occie Williams Brisco was born June 7, 1930 to the late Henry and Novella Williams. She was the third child of nine siblings.Four preceded her in death, two brothers, Clarence and Eddie Williams and two sisters, Bessie Houston and Florence Johnson.
Occie and Sam Brisco were united in marriage on May 13, 1949 and to this union seven children were born, one preceded her in death, Jesse Brisco, Sr.
At an early age, Occie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized by the power of the Holy Spirit. She became a member of the Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on various ministries: Pastor Support Ministry, Senior Choir and Senior Citizens Ministry. She loved fellowshipping, worshipping and serving her God.
Occie touched the lives of many people with her infectious smile, generosity and maintained her sense of humor all the way to the end. She was passionate about family, friends and cooking.
On August 2, 2020, our Lord and Savior called Occie home to infinite glory.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories; husband of 71 years, Sam W. Brisco, three sons, Marion (Louise) Brisco, Willie Brisco of Clarks Hill, SC, Russell (Tynisha) Brisco of Augusta, GA; Jesse Brisco, Jr., three daughters, Annie M. Coleman of Philadelphia, PA, Angela Lawler of Grovetown, GA, Jacqueline Brisco, Augusta, GA and Willetta Houston (stepdaughter) of Clarks Hill, SC; four sisters, Bertha (George) Luke of Appling, GA, Beatrice Jackson of Philadelphia, PA , Ozella Baston and Addie
Hamilton of Boston, MA. One brother in law Leroy (Olena) Brisco, three sisters-in-law, Eva Lou Griffin, Thomasina Hartfield and Viola Hammond. Twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many special friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Mask and Social Distancing practices will be observed. Viewing will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
