It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mrs. Teresa D. Mathis who entered into eternal rest Friday, February 5, 2021 at University Hospital.

Mrs. Mathis, a native of Aiken County was a 1983 graduate of North Augusta High School. She joined Hazel Grove Baptist Church at an early age.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Lee Mathis; a sister, Patricia Adams Gause (Charles); four brothers, Anthony Roberts (Mary), Malichi Adams, Jr., (Kaneshia), Cassey Adams and Jermaine Jackson (Monica); chosen children, Johnny Lee Mathis, Jr., Travis S. Mathis, Comanika Mathis, Shyrline Peterson (Armon) and Vinika Palmore (Shepherd); 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial ervice will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2021 at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Freeman officiating. Mask and social distancing will be observed.
